Broadband >> Fibre to the Cabinet
Fibre to the Cabinet or FTTC for short, is BT's new method of delivering ultra-fast broadband speeds of up to 40Mb.
This new product consists of fibre optic connections between the exchange and the local street cabinets. The last "mile" from the cabinet to the home or office remains copper for now.
Tests of this new technology begin in early 2010 with roll-out later in the year
